HRC Advisory’s Antony Karabus and Planalytics hosted a breakfast presentation on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Toronto. The event focused on the impact of weather on sales and profitability. This was a key, timely topic for retailers given the extreme unfavorable conditions this winter.
They discussed how so few retailers are effectively using weather intelligence to:
-Understand and measure the impact that weather has on demand (for specific product categories, store traffic/transactions, etc.)
-Project the effect that weather will have on future selling seasons.
-Determine when and where demand will be higher or lower due to weather.
